What I offer
Psychiatric care built around the whole person
My work centers on thoughtful assessment, diagnostic clarity, medication management, and the development of practical systems that actually improve care. I am particularly interested in the intersection of medical, psychiatric, developmental, and social factors, because that intersection is where most people actually live.
Who I work with
Care across every season of life
Ages 6–12
Children
Thoughtful evaluation and support for children navigating attention, mood, anxiety, and neurodevelopmental differences. I work closely with families and, when appropriate, with schools and other providers.
Commonly addressed
Ages 13–17
Adolescents
Teen years are complicated. I offer a non-judgmental space for adolescents dealing with depression, anxiety, identity, neurodivergence, and the pressures of growing up in a world that wasn't built for every kind of mind.
Commonly addressed
Ages 18–64
Adults
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults. I specialize in neurodivergent adults, late-identified autism and ADHD, and those navigating complex or treatment-resistant presentations.
Commonly addressed
Ages 65+
Older Adults
Geriatric psychiatry with patience, depth, and genuine expertise. I support older adults through late-life transitions, cognitive changes, behavioral symptoms, and the full complexity of aging, including the intersection of medical and psychiatric factors.

Areas of particular interest
Where I go deep
Beyond general family and psychiatric practice, I bring focused expertise and genuine curiosity to these areas.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care
Fully affirming psychiatric care for LGBTQIA+ individuals across all identities and expressions. You will not be pathologized or asked to justify who you are. Gender-affirming care, identity exploration, and the unique mental health needs of queer and trans individuals are areas of genuine focus.
Autism & Neurodevelopment
Diagnostic evaluation, affirming care, and medication management for autistic individuals across the lifespan, from newly identified children to adults who've spent decades undiagnosed.
Gerontology & Late-Life Psychiatry
The psychiatric needs of older adults are distinct and often underserved. I bring geriatric-specific expertise to mood, cognition, behavioral symptoms, and the complexity of aging.
Neuropsychiatry
The brain and the mind are not separate. I approach psychiatric symptoms with attention to neurological, medical, and developmental contributors that are often missed in standard evaluations.
Integrative & Functional Medicine
Medication is one tool among many. I incorporate integrative and functional medicine perspectives, including lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, gut-brain connection, somatic factors, and root-cause thinking, alongside evidence-based psychiatric practice.
Complex & Comorbid Presentations
Many of my patients have seen multiple providers without resolution. I specialize in untangling complex, multi-diagnosis presentations where medical, psychiatric, developmental, and social factors overlap.
Human Consciousness & Meaning
I take seriously the existential and philosophical dimensions of psychiatric experience, questions of identity, meaning, and what it means to be a mind in a body.
Clinical approach
What a visit actually looks like
Thorough initial evaluation
I take time. Initial appointments are longer than you may be used to, because I want to understand your history, your context, and what has and hasn't worked before.
Diagnostic clarity
I work to understand what is actually going on, not just what fits a billing code. That sometimes means revisiting prior diagnoses, exploring medical contributors, or sitting with complexity.
Collaborative treatment planning
You are part of the plan. I explain my thinking, share options, and make decisions with you, not for you. Medication is discussed honestly, including what it can and can't do.
Ongoing medication management
Follow-up appointments track how you're doing, adjust as needed, and stay attentive to the full picture, not just symptom checklists.
Interdisciplinary coordination
I collaborate with therapists, PCPs, specialists, schools, and other providers when it serves your care. We all work better together.
How it works
Tele-health and In-Person appointments, done thoughtfully
Appointments are conducted via secure video and audio. You connect from wherever is private and comfortable, home, office, car, wherever works. I have practiced telehealth across multiple settings and believe it can be just as effective as in-person care when done with intention. In-person appointments currently available in Dubuque, IA.
Let's figure out if we're a good fit
I don't take every referral, and I want you to find the right provider, whether that's me or someone else. Reach out and let's talk.
