Every Part of the Path had Purpose
My journey was never a straight line, and I believe that is one of my greatest strengths as both a clinician and a leader. Before entering healthcare, I built a foundation in freelance art, hospitality, and the salon and spa industry. Those experiences taught me how to read a room, build trust, anticipate needs, and create environments where people feel genuinely cared for.
My work later expanded into consulting, where I helped lead the planning and development of luxury spa projects across the Midwest. I learned how to take an idea from concept to completion by defining the vision, coordinating people and details, solving problems, and building services from the ground up. That same creative, relationship-centered, and systems-minded approach continues to shape my work today. I am drawn not only to providing excellent care, but also to developing thoughtful services, improving systems, and creating programs that work well for both the people receiving care and the teams delivering it.
My healthcare career began in 2009, providing in-home care for chronically and terminally ill infants and children and working in long-term care with older adults nearing the end of life. I advanced within skilled nursing from staff and wound-care nursing to MDS and infection-control coordination, Director of Nursing, and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. In executive leadership within a rural critical access healthcare system, I led long-term care QAPI and hospital CQI initiatives, regulatory compliance, survey readiness, corrective action planning, and multidisciplinary departmental managers. I also served on policy, safety, information technology, finance, and compliance committees and helped develop emergency preparedness programs and community health needs assessments. These roles taught me how healthcare systems function from the bedside to the boardroom.
I became a family nurse practitioner in 2015, earned my doctorate in 2017, and later completed post-doctoral certification in psychiatric-mental health. My advanced-practice career has spanned family medicine, home-based care, palliative care, chronic disease management, long-term care, and the treatment of medically complex older adults. I later expanded into remote psychiatry, geriatric behavioral health program development, medical direction, telehealth, and high-volume community mental health.
This range of experience gives me a strong understanding of medical complexity, aging, healthcare systems, and the realities of treatment across settings. I also bring a neurodivergent perspective to my work and understand how easily people can be overlooked or misunderstood when their communication styles, experiences, or ways of moving through the world do not fit expected patterns.

Clinical philosophy
How I practice
LGBTQIA+ affirming
I provide fully affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals across all identities and expressions. You will not be pathologized, misgendered, or asked to justify who you are. This is a safe space.
Neurodivergent-affirming
I honor your differences. I work to understand how your brain works and build care around that, not around a neurotypical standard.
Lifespan perspective
From childhood through older adulthood, I bring continuity of understanding. Development, aging, and everything in between informs how I approach each patient.
Collaborative and curious
You are the expert on your own experience. I bring clinical knowledge; you bring your story. Good care happens when we work together.
Telehealth-native
I have practiced telehealth across multiple settings and believe it can be just as, and sometimes more, effective than in-person care when done thoughtfully.
Integrative & evidence-based
I blend evidence-based psychiatric practice with integrative and functional medicine perspectives, exploring lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, and somatic factors alongside medication when appropriate.
Ready to work together?
Whether you are a new patient looking for care or a healthcare professional reviewing my background, I would love to connect.
